  • Japan is San Diego County’s top source of foreign direct investment, accounting for nearly 12,000 local jobs across 407 firms.
  • UC San Diego’s Jacobs School of Engineering and Office of Research Affairs opened a satellite campus in downtown Tokyo. Conversely, Kyoto University recently set up its own liaison office in San Diego.
